1. Who We Are

SmartKeyboard (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI keyboard application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the SmartKeyboard app and this website. Because a keyboard sits between you and everything you type, we take this responsibility seriously.

2. Keystroke Data

SmartKeyboard does not log, record, store or transmit the characters you type. This includes passwords, payment card numbers, private messages and any other text entered into any app. There is no keystroke history feature and no analytics SDK attached to the keyboard extension.

3. Full Access

iOS allows third-party keyboards to request “Full Access”, which permits a keyboard to read the surrounding text field context and use network access. SmartKeyboard works without Full Access for basic rewriting, grammar correction and translation.

Full Access is required only for context-aware suggestions, which need to read the conversation around the cursor. You may enable or disable it at any time in iOS Settings, and the keyboard continues to function in basic mode if disabled.

4. On-Device Processing

Core features — including grammar correction, tone adjustment and standard rewriting — are processed on your device. Where a feature requires a more capable model, only the specific text needed to generate a suggestion is processed, and it is not retained after the suggestion is returned.

5. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the service:

• Purchase data — Pro subscription status is validated through Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details.
• Diagnostic data — crash reports and aggregate performance statistics, only if you opt in through iOS settings.
• Support correspondence — information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.

6. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
• We do not include advertising SDKs in the keyboard extension.
• We do not build profiles of your writing habits for marketing purposes.
• We do not require an account to use the app.

7. Data Retention

Diagnostic data is retained in aggregate form for up to 12 months. Support correspondence is retained for up to 24 months. Suggestion history, where enabled, remains on your device until you clear it or delete the app.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. Children's Privacy

SmartKeyboard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SmartKeyboard iOS application and this website. By downloading, installing or using SmartKeyboard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Licence Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use SmartKeyboard on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. Purchases and Subscriptions

SmartKeyboard Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You may manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with its refund policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app to generate content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory or infringes third-party rights.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except as permitted by law.
• Redistribute, sublicense or resell access to the app or its AI features.
• Circumvent subscription validation or other technical protection measures.

5. AI-Generated Content

Suggestions produced by the assistant are generated automatically and may contain errors, awkward phrasing or inaccurate translations. You are responsible for reviewing any suggested text before sending it. Do not rely on AI output for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical communications without human review.

6. Your Content

You retain all rights to the text you write and the messages you send. We claim no ownership over your content. We do not log keystrokes and we do not retain the text used to generate a suggestion after the suggestion is returned.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business opportunity, arising from your use of the app or reliance on AI-generated suggestions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Updates and Availability

We may release updates, modify features or discontinue parts of the app at any time. We are not obligated to maintain compatibility with older iOS versions indefinitely.

10. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. You may terminate by deleting the app and removing the keyboard in iOS Settings. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers and liability survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
